HDB honours partners for quality housing

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) will recognise its industry partners for their active support to provide quality public housing in Singapore, at this year’s HDB Awards. Seven HDB Design Awards and 14 HDB Construction Awards will be presented to consultants and contactors at a gala dinner on 16 October.

“HDB is committed to develop well-designed, sustainable, and community centric towns. These are the three key thrusts of our Roadmap to Better Living in HDB Towns. And we are glad our industry partners have worked closely with us to meet these objectives, as shown by the great designs and innovations from the award winners this year,” said Dr Cheong Koon Hean, Chief Executive Officer of HDB.

The first category, HDB Design Award is given to architectural consultants in recognition of their outstanding design for HDB’s projects.

This year, the top design awards will be conferred to the recently completed mixed development at Clementi Town Centre and Punggol Waterway, which have exhibited “a strengthened distinctive identity and character.” Additionally, the upcoming Build-to-Order (BTO) project at Bukit Batok, Skyline I & II will also be honoured under this category.

Meanwhile, the HDB Construction Award recognises contractors who “deliver quality products through innovative solutions while upholding high construction standards.”

Among this year’s Construction Award winners is the Punggol Waterway, which has promoted good sustainable practices including recycling of excavated soil. Moreover, newly built residential projects in Punggol Spring, Damai Grove and Ghim Moh valley are also recognised for their higher productivity and innovation in the construction process.
