Fire breaks out at NUS, one injured

SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at the National University of Singapore's Engineering Faculty on Friday.

SCDF personnel are currently at the scene and the fire seems to be contained.

One person has been sent to hospital.

Witnesses said SCDF was working with three water monitors and two water jets to cool the building, which had been evacuated.

Mr Lloyd Tee Sze Hou told Channel NewsAsia that the "NUS engineering faculty experienced an explosion while students were at an NUSSU Rag event".

Another witness earlier said there were "bright red flames shooting into the sky".
