Amy Winehouse home for sale

Fixed-fee U.K. real estate agency House Network is marketing Amy Winehouse’s former home (pictured) in Camden Square, London, with an asking price of £2,699,950 (S$5.36 million).

It was hoped that the 2,500 sq ft semi-detached townhouse, which was besieged by thousands of fans after the singer died last summer, would be used as the headquarters of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, but the cost to the charity would, it seems, be too high.

The four-storey, three-bedroom villa-style house has only sold once in the last 40 years, when it was bought by Amy’s father Mitch for £1.8 million (S$3.6 million) in April 2010. It is thought that Winehouse lived in the property for three years before succumbing to alcohol poisoning.

The property, which overlooks Camden Square, has both front and rear gardens and has been sensitively restored to retain many original features. It has, obviously, a state-of-the-art security system including CCTV network and hefty electronic gates.

The area is home to many wealthy, bohemian residents, and is a favourite for many well-known faces in the arts, entertainment and media worlds.
