Singapore shares end mixed

SINGAPORE: Singapore share prices ended mixed on Tuesday amid eurozone uncertainty.

The blue-chip Straits Times Index (STI) rose 0.24% or 7.03 points to end at 2,931.98.

But in the broader market, losers beat gainers 193 to 188. Overall volume traded was 1.97 billion shares worth S$1.03 billion.

Local banks were among the gainers, with UOB ending 0.7% higher at S$18.33, OCBC rising 0.8% to S$8.87 and DBS climbing 1.3% to S$14.15.

Singtel gained 0.64 percent to S$3.14 while real estate developer Capitaland shed 1.80 percent to S$2.73.
