Galaxy S II gets ICS update in Singapore

Here's some good news for Galaxy S II owners in Singapore: You can now get some Ice Cream Sandwich goodness on your smartphone.

The long-awaited update--which was made official for Europe two months ago--is not available over-the-air (OTA), but can be obtained only by sending your handset in to a service center or via Samsung Kies.

For S II users in other countries, do check with your local Samsung service center.

So far, there's no news on Android 4.0 updates for other Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy Note.

For other handset owners, head on over to our article on smartphones getting the ICS update.

Update (May 14, 1150 GMT+8): Contrary to what we were told by the Samsung Smart Care hotline, the update is not only available at the service center, but through Kies as well. This article has been updated accordingly.
