Samui sales marks the return of branded residences

While other markets have seen the rapid emergence of branded residences as a fresh growth segment, the Thai island of Koh Samui has been a bit slower to react. But that has changed with the recent sale of one of the most exclusive villas on the island.

Minor Property Group, which boasts The Estates Samui (pictured) as part of its uber-luxury portfolio, has announced the sale of one of its most prestigious properties at its collection of 14 spacious villas adjacent to the Four Seasons Resort in Koh Samui.
Nestled amongst the lush secluded hillside of stunning Laem Yai Bay on the Northwestern tip of the paradise island, The Estates Samui is a property development bringing new meaning to luxurious living.

One of the best appointed villas is Estate Tawan, a two-bedroom property, which was recently sold to a Thai national for an undisclosed price.

The Bill Bensley-designed masterpiece is crafted from the finest tropical hardwoods to exacting specifications and reflects a harmonious blend of the traditional Southern Thai way with modern luxury and style.

James Knowles, Vice President of Residential Property, said that this acquisition is another example of Samui continuing to raise its profile to a different level in the property market and believes that the island will see a greater number of premium sales in the near future.

"Koh Samui has a growing range of properties in the premium niche sector that are considered excellent value for money, especially when benchmarked with other leading international resort destinations. Many of our existing customers are looking at Koh Samui as the next place to invest into and to own a second home," he said.

"As Koh Samui develops its luxury sector, investors are increasingly aware that buying real estate in the path of development progress has always been the way to make strong financial returns while at the same time enjoying the ultimate hotel-serviced home," added Knowles.

Minor Property Group is a leader in developing branded residences in Thailand. It developed the Residences at St Regis Hotel which is a 53-unit private development sitting directly above the recently opened St Regis Hotel, that has attracted investors from both Thailand and beyond. On top of this, the group has one of the most awarded property developments in Asia - The Residences at Four Seasons Chiang Mai.

"Branded residences offer so much more value, benefits and versatility. With prime properties in three of Thailand's most exotic locations we believe we can only see even further interest in this segment in the future," said Knowles.
