National Skin Centre launches first online patient health portal

SINGAPORE: National Skin Centre patients now have the convenience of accessing records and communicating with their healthcare team from the comfort of their own homes.

The Centre launched its online Patient Health Portal on Tuesday.

The Centre said the online system is a first for a health institution in Singapore, and possibly in Asia, and will enable patients to do a variety of tasks related to their treatments.

Consultant at the National Skin Centre, Dr Steven Thng, said these include corresponding with the healthcare team via email about medication, treatment and procedure queries.

They will also be linked to more information related to their medical condition.

The Centre said more than 100 people have signed on to the free service since it was piloted late last year.

Patients also need not worry about confidentiality, as they are required to log onto the website using a password.
