Singapore stocks close flat

SINGAPORE : Stocks in Singapore closed flat on Thursday following a mixed performance by US stocks overnight.


The Straits Times Index fell 0.56 points or 0.02 per cent to end at 3,025.84.


Volume was 1.28 billion shares.


Losers led gainers 222 to 137.


United Overseas Bank climbed 0.2 per cent to S$18.50, DBS fell 0.6 per cent to S$14.37, while Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp shed 0.7 per cent to S$8.94.


StarHub rose 1.3 per cent to S$3.09, while SingTel was up 0.6 per cent at S$3.13.


Among other stocks, Swiber Holdings declined 5.7 per cent to S$0.665, while Interra Resources advanced 6.5 per cent to S$0.33.
