Singapore stocks close 0.7% lower

SINGAPORE : Stocks in Singapore closed 0.7 per cent lower on Thursday following overnight losses on Wall Street.


The Straits Times Index fell 21.89 points to end at 2,994.09.


Volume was 1.63 billion shares.


Losers led gainers 221 to 123.


CapitaLand declined 2.5 per cent to S$3.07 while CapitaMalls Asia shed 2.4 per cent to S$1.64.


Olam International slipped 1.7 per cent to S$2.34, Wilmar International fell 1.0 per cent to S$4.90, while Swiber Holdings dropped 2.9 per cent to S$0.675.
