Singapore shares end flat after choppy session

SINGAPORE - Singapore share prices ended flat on Wednesday after a choppy session, in line with most regional markets.

The key Straits Times Index (STI) ended at 3,005.63 points - up 0.1% or 2.90 points from Tuesday's close - after touching an intra-day low of 2,989.55. For the day the index traded in a 19-point range.

Regional bourses traded mostly lower on Wednesday, weighed down by concerns over slowing economic growth in China.

On the Singapore Exchange, gainers and losers were closely matched at 182 to 179. Overall volume traded was 1.86 billion shares.

Among the losers, shipper Neptune Orient Lines fell 2.1% to S$1.385 while Global Logistic Properties lost 1.9% to S$2.08.
