President of Armenia visiting Singapore

SINGAPORE : President Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia will make a state visit to Singapore from March 27 to 29.

This will be the first state visit to Singapore from the Republic of Armenia.

President Sargsyan will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edward Nalbandian, and senior officials from the President's Office.

Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said President Sargsyan will be officially welcomed by President Tony Tan Keng Yam at a ceremony at the Istana on March 28.

He will meet President Tan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

President Sargsyan and PM Lee will witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation and an agreement on the terms of mutual waiver of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

President Tan will host a state banquet in honour of President Sargsyan in the evening of March 28.

During his visit, President Sargsyan will attend a business networking luncheon hosted by the Singapore Business Federation.

He will also visit the Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator and meet with members of the Armenian community in Singapore.
