More convenient to collect fare refunds in future

SINGAPORE: Commuters made 36,500 refund claims on public transport fares last year.

The refunds were a result of errors made by bus systems in calculating distances travelled and mistakes made by commuters when paying fares with their travel cards.

Going forward, it will be easier for commuters to collect refunds.

For example, refunds for earlier approved claims can be credited straight into commuters' travel cards at any Add Value Machines.

In future, claims can also be filed at the machines and refunds given back on the spot.
